This time around we are going to stick with players, and the
#2 Greatest Player of All Time is an athlete who played multiple sports in his
time. A lot of people wrote him off at times, but he prevailed in every sport,
he was just a flat out beast and could not be stopped. This guy is Bo
Jackson. Bo played football and baseball, baseball being his first love
he went to the league in 1986, and after missing football at Auburn he told the
press that if picked he would play football as well. Well Bo had already
been picked 1st overall to the Buccaneers in the 1986 Draft but denied so he
could play baseball obviously, well, being an NFL GM you had to be a little
concerned that he wouldn't come play football or wouldn't be successful after
all that time away from the game. Well they were wrong, and the Los
Angeles Raiders stole the show on draft night selecting Jackson in the 7th
Round. That's right I said the 7th round. This guy ran a 4.12 40 time
and couldn't be stopped, and he was selected in the 7th Round. Bo did
make a Pro Bowl appearance in his short 4-year career, and could've had
more. In-between football season, he went back to playing baseball with
the Royals, and in the later part of his career, the Chicago White Sox.
In 1989, Bo won the MVP in the All-Star game, 1989 was the season he
dominated. He hit 32 homeruns, and hit over .250 along with 26 stolen
bases. Bo was fast, he was electric and one of the greatest players of
all time. He has an ESPN 30 for 30 documentary on him called, 'You Don't
Know Bo' I highly suggest looking at it. Very intriguing, and interesting
film. After all of this you can see why Bo Jackson is our #2 Greatest
Player of All Time.
