#2 Greatest Sports Moment of All Time: 2011 World Cup Quarterfinal USA vs. Brazil

Throughout these last 200 years there has been a sporting event every day.  No matter what sport it is, either football, basketball, baseball, hockey, golf, racing, soccer, tennis, volleyball, swimming, track & field, cricket, water polo, handball, or squash, someone is playing.  Honestly I can pretty much guarantee that there is someone playing a sport as we speak.  Or type ahaha.  But the #2 Moment in Sports History is in the game of soccer.  The 2011 World Cup in the Women's side of it.  Abby Wambach, now the star of the United States Women's National Team headed in a goal against Brazil in the quarterfinal game in extra time.  The Americans were down by one at the time, in the 122' it looked like it was about to be the worst World Cup in Women's soccer history.  They had about a minute to get the ball from their own side of the field all the way to the other side of the field.  Looking down and out for the count, the ball was advanced to Megan Rapinoe, she then placed a perfect ball over a Brazilian defender and the Brazilian goalkeeper, and it hit Abby Wambach in the head as she struck the ball into the net.  I watched this event live and I will never forget it.  Bob Ley had the call and I will never forget his words, "OHHHHHH CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!  ABBY WAMBACH HAS SAVED THE USA'S LIFE!"  The Americans ended up wininng the game in penalty kicks, and it will go down as potentially the greatest soccer game ever played.  This game put US Women’s soccer back on the map.  It still gives me the chills every time I see it.  #2 on the list of Greatest Moments in Sports History, USA vs. Brazil World Cup Quarterfinal game.
