Now we've been through the top two athletes in sports of all
time, so let’s take a little break and head over to the greatest moments in
sports of all time. This list could and will go on forever, and it will
keep growing as time goes on. But for right now, we have no make the
decisions as to what should be atop the list. And after much conversation
about the topic, there has been a unanimous decision. The #1 Greatest
Moment in Sports of All Time is the Miracle Game, between the United States and
the Soviet Union in the 1980 Olympics. This game was unbelievable, the US
was written off, the people said they had no chance, and in the heat of the
Cold War, this game was huge for the people in America. By far, one of
the greatest hockey games ever. Now most of the kids around my age or a
little bit older doesn’t know too much about it. But we all got our
information from the movie "Miracle" now this movie, this movie was
awesome. I'll never forget those last 10 seconds where everyone is
counting down in the arena and the commentator goes, "Do you believe in
miracles?!?!?" It gives me the chills every time. If you ask a
lot of people who were around back then, it is one of those things where you
remember where you were when it happened.
I don’t really know if the Olympics will ever get back to this kind of
stature it had during the 1980 Winter Olympics.
I mean it almost did a couple years ago when the US played Canada in the
Gold Medal Game, but they lost in overtime.
With that and everything else we’ve talked about that is why the 1980
Miracle Game is the #1 Sports Moment of All Time.
